REVIEW – JUNK Revive The Old School Hip Hop Bangers With Their Single “They Call Me Old Man”

From the first moment we started listening to “They Call Me Old Man” the latest single for JUNK, it felt as if we traveled back in time vibin’ along the old school hip hop bangers that shaped a whole generation back then

Starting with a groovy beat and lyrics that just hit hard with the message that “age” is just a number and more about experiences that younger generations have to pay a huge respect to !!

In 2020 during the height of the pandemic, two club playing bandmates, Master Bassist and Music theorist Aaron “Dubl A” Seener from Long Island NY and Saxophonist Dale “Dirty D” Pearson from San Diego CA hit the studio to create a one of a kind musical entity. The band would have no genre and would be a self-serving one-way street of creativity that utilized everything that influenced the duo from Jazz, and Classic orchestral composition to Hip Hop, Punk rock and Funk. They decided to call this Bass Forward, and Saxophone heavy, wild fusion band “JUNK” because it represented so many genres.

The track was made as an answer to someone who made an agist comment to one of the band members. Taking aim at agism, that dirty little secret that people never want to address. Well, this is what JUNK thinks about people who even consider age a number. We live by the words, “Don’t judge a book by its cover”. When you seen an old man, remember what I tell you.

You can give a listen to “They Call Me Old Man” below and make sure you give a follow to stay tuned with JUNK's future releases
