Updated: Nov 23

We are pleased to have Richmond, VA author and vocalist Bryanna Rain for this interview.

Bryanna has been recording tracks for well over a decade, releasing her first solo EP at age 13 as well as publishing a picture book under the Tik A Tok imprint based out of New York.

She's a graduate of Virginia Tech, passionate about animals and role playing video games-so much so that it became an inspiration for her full length debut in 2019. The global Pandemic caused an extended delay in promotion and she moved on to Exquisite Noise. Throughout 2021 she released a panoply of iTunes charting singles after which were compiled on Episodes and released in March 2022.

Q : ' Arcades, Aeroplanes ' is a very catchy song ! What is the meaning behind it and what inspired you with the idea ?

Bryanna : I'd been influenced by quite a bit of Arcade Foley in my writing, and preparing to take the material live.

Q : You mentioned quite a few cities in your song ( Amsterdam, Melbourne, Cairo, Reykjavik, Osaka, Birmingham, L.A , Chicago,Minneapolis, Athens & Mexico ) is there a story behind each city or is it just random ?

Bryanna : No, I wasn't just singing about different cities for the fuck of it, these were some of the destinations involved for the live work.

Q : What’s your creative process when you write new music ?

Bryanna : The process creates me

Q: How did you decide what to include in the visuals for the video?

Bryanna : That's me drifting off into my own semi-dreamworld. I'm a big fan of line art.

Q: What is your personal favorite of the songs you have released? You can only pick one!

Bryanna : '1973' from Petrichor ATM.

Q : What strengths do you have that you believe make you a great musician?

Bryanna : I continually aspire to create.

Q : Do you have any weaknesses that you're actively working to improve on?

Bryanna : New gear

Q : Are there any musicians who inspire you? What qualities do you admire about them?

Bryanna : Anyone who brings out atmosphere and mood and gives you ear worms afterward
