REVIEW – Guns N’ Roses Unleash A Slow-Building Guitar-Led Song Along High Piercing Screaming Vocals In “The General”

During the last show of their 2023 tour at the Hollywood Bowl, Guns N’ Roses debuted a new unreleased song called “The General” and as old school GNR fans we had to check it out

We have to admit that it doesn’t sound like the classic Guns N’ Roses we grew up on, surprisingly it sounded more like a trip hop psychedelic beat.

As the track starts you try hard to figure out what’s going on, until Axl Rose’s instantly recognizable voice hits in

The verses eventually build up to a fiery, distorted slo-mo chorus that lets Axl shows off his unusually high screaming vocals

Then Slash kicks in with his legendary lead guitar theatrics that still hold the taste of the Guns N’ Roses we know and…. still love!

Overall, it sounds more of the Chinese Democracy era that lacks being catchy, but still holds the trademark of the greatest band in rock history
